DEEP FRIED MUSHROOMS

INGREDIENTS

2 Cups Hook to Cook Vegetable Coating

½ Cup Hook to Cook Pre-Dip *

1 Cup water

1 Cup flour

Fresh mushrooms

Cooking Oil

METHOD #1

Put flour in medium size paper bag.  Wash and stem mushrooms.  Add a few to the bag and coat.  Shake off excess flour.  Place on plate.  Continue until all are coated.

In shallow dish, mix Pre-Dip with water using a whisk until smooth. Coat each mushroom with Pre-Dip, making sure all dry surfaces are coated.

In another medium size bowl add the Hook to Cook Vegetable Coating and coat each piece evenly.

When all are coated, heat oil and fry until golden brown.  Drain on paper towel.  Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

 CAUTION:  Will be extremely hot!!

METHOD #2 (wet batter)

Put flour in medium size paper bag.  Add a few spears at a time to bag and coat.  Shake off excess flour.  Place on plate.  Continue until all are coated.

In a medium size bowl, mix the Hook to Cook Vegetable Coating with 1 cup champagne, beer or water.  Dip spears in wet batter until evenly coated.

When all are coated, heat oil and fry until golden brown.  Drain on paper towel.  Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

CAUTION:  Will be extremely hot!!

*Hook to Cook Pre-Dip when mixed as directed makes a superior adhesion batter forming an intermediate binding layer that produces a healthier entrée by preventing oil/fat absorption.  Pre-Dip also seals in juices/moisture and nutrients, increases adhesion, crispness and prevents blow off during frying.  Pre-Dip will also help food stay crisp longer when kept warm or on the table, and with its superb blend of flour and spice will enhance the flavors of any additional coatings giving you the results of a professional chef.  Pre-Dip is highly recommended to be used with all Hook to Cook Premium Coatings
