Next I reinstalled the radiator, purchased a couple of radiator hoses from the LAPS, (local auto parts store) and fabricated a "T" to reconnect the radiator, water pump, and thermostat housing.
The next thing I needed to do was to fabricate a T for the thermostat bypass. Note: You should be able to use the existing T from the existing system if you cut it right or if you don't plane on changing the heater lines. I used a 1" copper T and a 1" 45 deg. copper street fitting to fab the tee, Before soldering the 1" T to the 1" 45 I checked all of the components to make sure the fit and marked the angle the 45 need to be soldered to the 1" T.
The blue paint that I used is made by Dupli-Color called Metalcast. A anodized color effect, high gloss, and heat resistant to 500 deg F. Purchased at the LAPS for about $4.00 a can and comes in various colors. Can be used over bare metal. Polished or glass bead finish give good results. Looks especially nice coated with mud!
